Background:
The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) is a statutory organization established in 1996 as a Trust Fund under the Protected Areas Conservation Trust Act, No.15 of 1995. PACT contributes to the financing, sourced nationally and internationally, of the Belize National Protected Areas System – a system that is managed by Government Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Community Based Organizations.
Position Description:
The Project Development Officer (PDO) is primarily responsible for supporting the development and management of PACT’s external projects, mainly but not exclusively, with the Adaptation Fund and Green Climate Fund. Additionally, the PDO is responsible for supporting the implementation of project monitoring and evaluation frameworks so that results can be tracked and data made available for the execution of internal and external reporting and evaluations. The PDO will lead the preparation of project proposal packages including data on stakeholder consultations and social, environmental, and gender analyses and assessments as required. The PDO will also provide technical support to the Climate Finance Manager and Director of Programming, in coordination with consultants and partners, on the processes of project planning, design and management.
Core Competency Requirements
Education
Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Project Management or another pertinent field.
Industry recognized Training/certification in project design and/or project management is an asset.
Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience and
Previous experience with project planning and management is required.
Remuneration:
Compensation package commensurate with qualification and experience within a designated salary scale.
