Background:
The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) is a statutory organization established in 1996 as a Trust Fund under the Protected Areas Conservation Trust Act, Chapter 218 of the Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2020. PACT contributes to the financing, sourced nationally and internationally, of the Belize National Protected Areas System – a system that is managed by Government Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Community Based Organizations.
Position Description:
The Director of Sustainable Finance, Investment, and Asset Management (DSF) is responsible to strategically plan and manage the sustainable finance function of PACT. The DSF is ultimately responsible for asset investment and management, by maintaining the range of PACT’s assets that include capital, real estate, sinking funds, and endowment funds. The DSF develops investment strategies that respond to PACT’s needs and strategic objectives. The DSF performs asset tracking and implements strategies to increase the asset values, inclusive of calculating risks and returns and managing a financial portfolio that gives the best return on investment. The DSF is also responsible for managing the human resources of the Department. As a member of the senior management team, the DSF will be frequently required to generate and provide clear, trusted advice to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on all financial sustainability and asset management matters. Overall, the post is responsible for PACT’s long-term financial sustainability. The DSF must execute all duties with a high level of professionalism and discretion with a premium placed on confidentiality.
Core Competency Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Environmental Economics, Business, or another relevant
field. - Minimum of ten (10) years related professional experience
- Previous supervisory experience in a Finance or Economic Development unit is required.
- Previous experience in financial advisory services, or financial analysis.
- Previous senior management experience is required.
Remuneration:
Compensation package commensurate with qualification and experience within a designated salary scale.
