Background:
The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) is a statutory organization established in 1996 as a Trust Fund under the Protected Areas Conservation Trust Act, No.15 of 1995. PACT contributes to the financing, sourced nationally and internationally, of the Belize National Protected Areas System – a system that is managed by Government Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Community Based Organizations.
Position Description:
The Internal Auditor (IA) is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of PACT’s financial control, risk management and governance functions in a systematic and disciplined approach. The post will provide independent and objective assurance and risk analysis services to the BoD with the intention of maintaining accountability and improving operational efficiency, governance and management effectiveness within PACT. The IA position is expected to provide high level technical advice regarding these matters on an on-going basis.
Core Competency Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
At least two (2) years Internal Auditing experience or,
At least five years related work experience in risk-based auditing preferably with specific experience in financial risk and regulatory requirements reporting.
Operations management will be an asset and
Experience working with international development cooperation agencies will be an asset.
Remuneration:
Compensation package commensurate with qualification and experience within a designated salary scale.
