Title of Project: Building Capacity for Climate Resilient Infrastructure and Sustainable Urban Land Management and Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Economic Development for pre- Accreditation to the Green Climate Fund
1. Background:
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a unique global platform established to respond to climate change by investing in low-emission and climate-resilient development. GCF was established to limit or reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in developing countries, and to help vulnerable societies adapt to the unavoidable impacts of climate change. Given the urgency and seriousness of this challenge, the Fund is mandated to make an ambitious contribution to the united global response to climate change.
2. General Objectives of this Consultancy
The purpose of this consultancy is for the strengthening of the inter-institutional coordination mechanism between the Ministry of economic Development, Ministry of Infrastructure, Development and Housing (MIDH) and the Belize Association of Planners (BAP), for the coordination and collaboration and networking between state and non-state actors and human settlement planning and development.
3. Specific Objectives of this Consultancy
3.1.1 To increase collaboration and networking between state and non-state in human settlement planning and development.
3.1.2 Capacity Development of stakeholders in stakeholder Resilient Settlement, Infrastructure and Urban Development Policy-Improved resourcing of regulatory agencies.
4. Qualifications of Consultant
Academic Qualification – Have a master’s degree in public administration, public policy, international relations, political science, project management, conflict resolutions or related field.
5. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
The selected consultant will need to have or show:
• Strong organizational skills.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written English.
• Data analysis and research
• Presentation and facilitation skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
